Our reading is derived from what is actually built in each district today, not from the code string — a code like R-15 means different things in different Connecticut towns. It is an estimate, and the regulations linked above are the authority.
Where these names come from
Read the city's own PDF: "PZC - Zoning Regulations - Updated to 06-27-2025" (https://www.derbyct.gov/media/City%20Hall/Zoning/pzc---zoning-regulations---updated-to-06-27-2025.pdf), Chapter 195 ZONING. Codes come from Sec. 195-8 "Zoning districts enumerated"; official names come from the individual district section headings (Sec. 195-9 through 195-24). All 11 assessor codes matched. Two spelling notes: Sec. 195-8 lists "R-M Zone" while Sec. 195-14 heads the district "Residential-Multiple (RM) Zone"; Sec. 195-8 lists "Industrial Campus Zone (IC Zone)" while Sec. 195-22 heads it "Industrial Campus (I-C) Zone" — the section-heading spellings are returned. PPD (Sec. 195-24, added 11/16/2018) is a floating district defined in the ordinance but not carried into the Sec. 195-8 enumeration; it is included.
