Our reading is derived from what is actually built in each district today, not from the code string — a code like R-15 means different things in different Connecticut towns. It is an estimate, and the regulations linked above are the authority.
Where these names come from
Read the town's own PDF: Town of Fairfield Zoning Regulations, adopted and effective 9/6/2025 (file updated 8/12/2026), Sec. 1.3 'Districts' — fairfieldct.gov/Fairfield_ZoningRegulations_Adopted_Effective_09062025 - updated 8.12.pdf. The 2025 reformat renamed three map codes: assessor codes CDBD, NDBD and DID are the pre-9/6/2025 codes for the Center Designed Business, Neighborhood Designed Business and Designed Industrial districts, now coded CDD, NDD and DI — confirmed against the superseded 'Zoning Regulations Master Revised to February 13, 2024' edition, which spells them CDBD/NDBD/DID. They are returned under the current ordinance's spelling, so all 14 assessor codes are accounted for.
