Our reading is derived from what is actually built in each district today, not from the code string — a code like R-15 means different things in different Connecticut towns. It is an estimate, and the regulations linked above are the authority.
Where these names come from
Killingly contains TWO zoning jurisdictions and both were read from the town's own site (killinglyct.gov, served via cms2.revize.com). (1) Town of Killingly Zoning Regulations, Article IV Section 400 'Districts Established' (sec_400_0.pdf, a scanned page read visually) plus the Table of Contents revised July 18, 2018; individual section PDFs carry amendments through September 15, 2025. (2) Borough of Danielson Zoning Regulations, Article IV Section 400 'Districts Established' - a separate ordinance, which is where CBD comes from. Assessor codes RHD, RMD, BRHD, BRMD and BGC are almost certainly the Borough districts (the Borough ordinance spells them RM, RH and CG, and the 'B' prefix reads as Borough), but the difference is more than punctuation/whitespace, so they are returned unmatched rather than guessed onto a label. ALZ.L, ALZ.R and FMR.R are overlay-derived assessor codes: Section 582 (Alexander Lake Overlay Zoning District) was read in full and defines no ALZ-L / ALZ-R sub-districts, and the ordinance's overlay codes are ALZOD and the Five Mile River / Aquifer Protection overlays, so those three are also unmatched.
