Where these names come from

Read "Brooklyn, Connecticut Zoning Regulations", Planning & Zoning Commission, EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2024 (https://www.brooklynct.org/DocumentCenter/View/182). This supersedes the 2-9-2023 edition that search engines surface. District list assembled from the Article 3 (Residential Zones), Article 4 (Business Zones) and Article 5 (Special Zones) section headings, with abbreviations taken from each zone's Purpose clause (e.g. "The Village Center (VC) Zone...", "referred to as MMUD Zone"). Section 1.C establishes zones by reference to the Zoning Map rather than listing them, so there is no consolidated table. The seven overlay/planned zones in Article 5 are given no abbreviation anywhere in the text, so their full official names are used as codes. All 7 assessor codes matched; R30 and R10 are the ordinance's R-30 and R-10 and are returned with the ordinance's hyphenated spelling.
