Kent, CT zoning districts
What each zoning code in Kent stands for, read from the town's own adopted regulations. Every parcel we list carries one of these codes; this is where you check what it permits.

Our reading is derived from what is actually built in each district today, not from the code string — a code like R-15 means different things in different Connecticut towns. It is an estimate, and the regulations linked above are the authority.
Where these names come from
townofkentct.org and townofkentct.gov both 403 to fetchers, so the current regulations were read from the town's own PDF via a Wayback snapshot: 'KENT, CONNECTICUT ZONING REGULATIONS, Planning & Zoning Commission, EFFECTIVE - SEPTEMBER 9, 2023' (kent_zoning_regulations_-_effective_09-09-23.pdf). Section 1300 does not enumerate the districts; they are established in Articles 3000 (Residential), 4000 (Business) and 5000 (Special). Three overlay districts are given no abbreviation in the regulations, so their code is the ordinance's full district name. IMPORTANT: neither assessor code matches the current ordinance - 'R1' and 'C' appear nowhere in the September 2023 regulations, whose residential and commercial districts are VR-1/VR-2, RU-1, RU-2, VC and BH. They look like legacy pre-2018 Kent codes, but nothing in the adopted ordinance supports a mapping, so both are returned unmatched rather than guessed.
