Our reading is derived from what is actually built in each district today, not from the code string — a code like R-15 means different things in different Connecticut towns. It is an estimate, and the regulations linked above are the authority.

Where these names come from

Read the town's own PDF linked from the Land Use Department page: https://www.easthamptonct.gov/DocumentCenter/View/390/Zoning-Regulations-3202025-PDF. Despite the filename, the file served is the current edition — amendment table shows amended December 3, 2025, effective December 13, 2025. There is no single enumerating section (Sec. 1.3.A just says districts are "as enumerated in these Regulations"), so codes and names are taken from the district section headings in Article 3 (Resource Protection Zones), Article 4 (Residential Zones), Article 5 (Business Zones) and Article 6 (Planned Development Districts). Assessor codes R-1S, R-2S and R-3S are NOT separate ordinance districts: the R-1, R-2 and R-3 area/dimensional tables each have "With Sewer" and "Without Sewer" columns, and the assessor's -S suffix marks the sewered variant. They are therefore reported as the ordinance districts R-1, R-2 and R-3 rather than as separate or unmatched codes. All 12 assessor codes are accounted for. The five Article 3 resource-protection zones carry no letter abbreviation in the ordinance, so their full names are used as the code.
