Our reading is derived from what is actually built in each district today, not from the code string — a code like R-15 means different things in different Connecticut towns. It is an estimate, and the regulations linked above are the authority.
Where these names come from
Read the Town's 'MASTER ZONING REGULATIONS' PDF linked from the Planning & Zoning Department page (northbranftordct.gov DocumentCenter/View/206, file dated 06-04-26): 'Zoning Regulations of the Town of North Branford, Connecticut', adopted effective September 2, 1977, amendments effective to June 4, 2026. District list taken from Section 21.1 'Districts', which prints each district name against its zoning map code; AHD, ARHD and MFHD are added from the headings of Sections 37, 38 and 39 (they are floating/overlay districts not shown in the 21.1 table). R-40P is retained because 21.1 still lists it, but the same table flags it 'OBSOLETE AS OF DECEMBER 3, 1980' and Section 31 is marked Deleted. All 6 assessor codes matched.
