Our reading is derived from what is actually built in each district today, not from the code string — a code like R-15 means different things in different Connecticut towns. It is an estimate, and the regulations linked above are the authority.
Where these names come from
berlinct.gov 403s to fetchers; retrieved the regulations through the town's own document center item (https://www.berlinct.gov/egov/apps/document/center.egov?view=item&id=12704), which serves the file directly — it is a Word document, not a PDF, titled 'Berlin Municipal Code, Appendix B — ZONING'; the document center labels it 'Berlin Zoning Regulations (September 2019)' and Section XVI states the effective date is February 8, 2018 as amended from time to time. District list is verbatim from Section III.A 'Establishment of zoning districts', which prints a Symbol/Title table grouped Residential / Commercial / Industrial / Special / Overlay districts. 'Aquifer Protection Area' appears in the overlay group with no separate symbol, so its name is used as the code. All 27 assessor codes matched; 'OT2' in the data is the ordinance's 'OT-2'. Districts in the ordinance but not in the assessor data: PR-1, PS-B, HDOZ, SP-DD 2, SP-DD Overlay, Aquifer Protection Area, VDO- KO.
